Into the wild

Wind in my hair, I feel part of everywhere

Underneath my being is a road that disappeared

I knew the rules but the rules did not know me

Christopher McCandless lived a life far from what’s expected by society. After graduating, he donated his savings and traveled with little resources through several states. His adventure continued as he ventured “into the wild” (Alaska) looking forward to live in solitude for some time. Although his adventure might seem too big compared to daily life, I find it inspiring for my new year’s resolution:

It’s time to do something that scares you, something that takes you out of your comfort zone. Set a date on that dream you have been postponing, you have waited long enough.

This is the year for new projects to come along. I am now engaged! I am planning to sew and design my own wedding dress. We are planning to travel this year for at least a month. I look forward to reading more, walking unknown lands, spending time with loved ones and drinking homemade affogato. I am open to change, to new challenges and adventures.

Now, I walk into the wild.

The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
