Fall trends: Inspired by KCFW

The sun is finally out and temperatures have risen to my beloved beach-like levels. It’s time to bring out the shorts and bikinis, but it’s also time to look at the trends that will rule this fall. Inspired by the collections shown on Thursday and Friday during the last KCFW, these are the items we think you should be on the look-out for your fall wardrobe.

The Cozy Cardigan

On the first of January at midnight, the temperature in Columbia was -21°C; today we are at -8°C and I'm really glad that it’s “warmer”. However, it is still necessary to wear several layers of clothing and coats. One of the pieces that I have used the most this week is this Charlotte Russe cardigan that my sister gave me.

KCFW-S/S '18

What are fashion shows all about? Is it the excitement that you feel when a model comes out wearing something fabulous, the anticipation for what will come out next, the desire to own those garments? I think it goes beyond deciding if what you are looking at is something that you would wear or not.

Moda Shoot

I would say that now, more than ever, you can truly be whatever you want to be. A fashion designer, a blogger, a model… It is no longer up to destiny to place you right in front of that café, under perfect light, at the exact time a model scout happens to walk out, and determines you are incredibly beautiful. KCFW - Bubbly+Bowties

Will and I were pretty exited about attending the KCFW Bubbles and Bow Ties. It was the perfect occasion to get all dressed up and fancy. We headed to West Bottoms, Kansas City, where the venue, R24 Studios, is located. R24 is an artisan crafted luxury furniture store, and yes, we actually sat on art work (Marshall @ HIMYM). After being greeted at the door, we waited in line for the first set of pictures as the music played upstairs on the third floor.

Chiefs of the Runway - KCFW

Last Thursday night (10/13), the Kansas City Chiefs latest fan apparel was seen in a very different field. Far away from turf and bleachers, a collection of Chiefs’ inspired-wear was showcased at the Kansas City Fashion Week. The first styles shown were a glimpse of the cheerful outfits that would follow.
