The Holidays Outfit
It’s the time of the year when Santa Baby and I’ll Be Home For Christmas are playing in every store you walk in. Inside, the warm tunes and the cinnamon scented air compete with the bright lights and colorful decorations from outside. Which scenario is more beautiful? It’s hard to tell.
Christmas brings happy memories to mind. Just a year ago, Will and I were about to get married, and we were posting pictures of the finishing touches on my wedding dress. I can’t believe how fast time went by.
This will be our first Christmas as a married couple, and like many of you, we are looking forward to a few days out of work, visiting family members, and listening to stories while taking sips of coffee or hot chocolate.
If you are also planning trips and family reunions, you might be wondering what to wear. I hope this Holiday outfit post gives you some inspiration to put together your own look. Here are a few tips to keep you warm and stylish.
The Holidays are all about adding a “little sparkle”. When I designed this blue coat, I wanted to add something that would make it stand out, so I decorated the lapels with golden beads and chose a distinctive fabric for the pockets.
A Christmas outfit needs some red. I used a floral ear cuff that I got at the Kansas City Renaissance fair and a warm burgundy top.
It has started to snow in Kansas City and Columbia, and when it gets really cold and windy, you will want a coat that covers below your hips. Try a knee-length coat or longer if you have one.
Once you are with your family and friends, be there! Beyond any presents that you give or receive, the moments spent with loved ones are what you will remember and appreciate the most.
